Our staff

Dr Kate King
I am crazy about cats and cat medicine and enjoy coaxing the best out of each and every feline I meet. I find that gentleness and a knowledge of normal (and not so normal!) cat behaviour go a long way to gaining and keeping a cat's confidence - and solving their health problems.

In July 2012 I gained my membership in cat medicine chapter of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists after much study and three gruelling examinations.

I aim to make all the cats I care for as comfortable and healthy as possible, no matter what their age.

My three Burmese cats, Cleo, Cinta and Coco kindly share their lounge and bed with me.

I look forward to meeting you and your feline friends at Canberra Cat Vet soon.

Cinta - eternally hungry
Cleo - the granny

Coco, my study buddy

Nurse Leanne Kentwell
Hi my name is Leanne! I have been a veterinary nurse for over 10 years and worked at the RSPCA, Hall Vet Surgery and Casey’s Beach Veterinary Clinic. I have been privileged to meet many special cats and their carers. While being a veterinary nurse is not always about cute kitty cuddles, they certainly make going to work well worthwhile and every day a satisfying adventure.
During my years working at the RSPCA I fostered many kittens. Since then, I have continued to foster and re-home strays. It warms my heart to be able to offer a kitten a second chance with a loving family.
My love of travel and animals has taken me all over the world. I volunteered at a lion park in South Africa. The lions were a little different from our domestic cats but I learnt a lot about cat behaviour and needs!
I adopted my cat Macey from the RSPCA. She is a character and her antics make me laugh and laugh. Working at the Canberra Cat Clinic is puurrrfect for spending more time with and learning more about our feline friends and I am looking forward to meeting Canberra’s cats!

Dr Karina Harding
Dr Karina with Nurse Leanne's cat, Macey

Dr Karina enjoys two days a week at Canberra Cat Vet. On the other days she works with the dogs at Hall Vet Surgery where many of you may have already met her.

She is an enthusiastic problem solver and loves spending her days working out the brain-twisters sick cats throw at us.
Karina also enjoys increasing her knowledge and skills in veterinary medicine. In 2013 she studied a clinical pathology course in microscope work as well as learning management skills.
